ELUCIDATING THE NEUROBIOLOGAL SUBSTRATES OF MEMORY & EMOTION
Our Research
A few of the specific ongoing questions our research seeks to answer include:

-
Which circuits co-control both learned and innate fear?

-
What network, circuits, and genes control the strength of learned fear memories?

-
Do brain-wide molecular networks exhibit a topological structure that represents learned fear differently than innate fear?

-
Are there key hub genes within these topologically-structured molecular networks that intrinsically differentiate between learned and innate fears?
Techniques
Our lab uses a variety of research techniques to answer the questions above, find out more about many of these techniques below.
